• My passion in ministry is seeing people become more like Jesus (holiness) and those disciples making a difference in their communities, cities, families, and worldwide. I have seen this happen through worship, study, and small discipleship groups. I am a Wesleyan nerd who believes that through our tradition of Methodism, people were revived by the work of God’s Holy Spirit. That can happen again if we as a Church submit to the voice of the Holy Spirit and follow God’s Will through Scripture, accountability, community, gifts of the Spirit, and the greatest of these is love.   Welcome to Good Shepherd!

Favorite Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 Common English Bible (CEB)™

“There are different spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; and there are different ministries and the same Lord; and there are different activities but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good. A word of wisdom is given by the Spirit to one person, a word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit, faith to still another by the same Spirit, gifts of healing to another in the one Spirit, performance of miracles to another, prophecy to another, the ability to tell spirits apart to another, different kinds of tongues to another, and the interpretation of the tongues to another. All these things are produced by the one and same Spirit who gives what he wants to each person.”

In 2020, multiple changes occurred to how many things in our life were conducted. In this period, discipleship and ministry depended on the digital world. In August 2020, the Digital Discipleship position was created, and I was called to serve. Audio production, computer networking, and technology have always been something that I have found enjoyable. I have experience volunteering with sound and computer networking for the county fairgrounds and a previous church. When my wife, Brooke, and I were looking for a church and began attending Good Shepherd in 2018, we were looking for a church that we could serve in some capacity. When God provided the opportunity to serve the church body through this position, we prayerfully considered, and our conversations turned from “Should we?” to discussing and thinking of all the possibilities.  I am excited as Brooke, and I work together in this position as we develop and support God’s kingdom at Good Shepherd and “virtually” anywhere.

    Favorite Bible Verse: Ecclesiastes 4:12

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.“

Fun Fact: I became a first-time dad in the middle of a global pandemic. I enjoy being outdoors with family, bike rides, walks, kayaking, and 4-wheeling. I like doing woodworking and DIY projects around the house in my spare time.

I have always had the desire to know more about God.  It wasn’t until I was in my 30s that I took that leap of faith to become involved in children’s ministry, and from that grew my desire to witness to others about God and what he has done in my life.  In 2015 a pastor approached me to become more involved in ministry.  At that time, I began taking some classes, both college level and through the Lay Servant Ministry in the United Methodist Church.  I am an active Certified Lay Servant and very involved in my church.  Last spring, I started a ladies' bible study that was a blessing.  I receive such joy in helping others in their walk with Christ.

    Favorite Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:8

"For by grace, you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

I am a huge sports fan, especially hockey and football.  My favorite pro teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers football and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey teams.

I love Jesus, and my greatest desire is to help grow our youth to fall desperately in love with Him too!

    Favorite Bible passage: John 15:12-17

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.”
