What is
Easter?
Jesus Christ came to earth as God's Son.
Jesus came to rescue humans from empty living.
He came to rescue us from Hell (the Hell we live daily on earth and the
eternal Hell we face at the final judgment).
On a day we call "Good Friday," Jesus was
executed by crucifixion on a cross. The followers of Jesus thought
everything was over. But Saturday passed. Then on Sunday,
God raised Jesus from the dead. This event (Jesus being raised
from death) is known as the Resurrection.
Every Easter, Christians celebrate the
Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter is a time of thanking God for the
awesome miracle of the forgiveness of sins (check out the links below)
and the awesome miracle of the transformation of death into new life.
Easter is also a time of looking
ahead...waiting for Jesus to return just as He promised.
Easter is all about God's power and love made
real to us in Jesus Christ!
